Weight Loss Secret For Success
#3 - Drink Your Water
By Naomi Jackson
Many people, particularly water
drinkers, are familiar with the benefits of drinking water.
Water keeps the body hydrated better than any other beverage,
But, did you know water plays a role in losing weight?
Exercise and healthy food choices
are essential in the process of losing weight. When you
increase the amount of lean proteins and fiber you need more
water. The use of protein by the cells in your body leaves
a waste called urea. Water is necessary to flush urea out
of the body and allows you to experience the benefits of fiber,
which forms bulk in the bowel and helps you avoid constipation.
When exercising regularly, the
body will break down stored fat to use as energy. However,
since toxins in the body are stored in the fatty tissue, when
the fat is broken down, it releases the stored toxins back into
the blood stream. Additionally, when burning fat, some of
the fat may not be burned completely. The partially burned
fat by-products are called ketones. By drinking between
eight and ten eight ounce cups of water per day, you will assist
your body in flushing the toxins and waste products out of your
system.
How does flushing the toxins out
of the body assist in your weight loss?
When there is an insufficient
supply of water to your body, your kidneys are not able to
purify your system with the help of the heart and blood.
Without the appropriate amount of water, the liver must do some
of the kidney's work. One of the liver's primary functions
is to metabolize fat into usable energy. The more
detoxifying the liver is required to do, the less fat the liver
has the ability to metabolize, which means fat will remain
stored in the body.
Many drinks people enjoy
regularly actually dehydrate the body. Coffee, teas and
sodas will not benefit you in the effort of hydrating your body.
The best choice is water.
Avoid fluoridated and chlorinated
water because both chemicals inhibit the functions of the
enzymes in the body. Additionally, fluoride can decrease
the function of the thyroid gland by up to 40%.
How much should you drink each
day?
Eight to ten 8-ounce glasses
of water each day is good. However, it will be important
to increase your water consumption based on your activity level,
the foods you are consuming and your environment.
Remember, if you are feeling thirsty, your body is already
in the beginning stages of dehydration.
Enjoy each and every glass of
water knowing you are taking one more step toward healthy
living!
See you slim and healthy,
Naomi
