Make Your Small Business Stand Out
By Ed Slattery
If you are self-employed or the owner of a small business, you know how
difficult it can be to get your potential customers to view you in the
same light as your larger competitors, especially if you work out of
your home. Fortunately, some of the perception can be changed with
a few simple business tools. Today, I am going to deal with one in
particular, the business phone system.
I personally have found a great solution for
managing and routing my call traffic. This is very important to
me. I need to be able to
project a professional image to my potential customers while keeping
overhead to a minimum. Therefore, I use a virtual phone system
with an auto attendant and call forwarding. When a potential
customer calls my toll free business number, they are greeted and given
options by the auto attendant. Calls are then forwarded to my cell
phone where I can choose to answer or let it go back to the options menu
so the caller can leave a voicemail, browse the company directory or
contact another individual in the company. This works great for me
since I am seldom sitting at my desk. Also, it gives me the
opportunity to field calls during the off-hours if I choose to.
The entire system is adjusted and maintained with a small piece of
software that is downloaded onto one of our computers. Once I
worked my way through the short learning curve, recorded the various
menu options and set up the forwarding instructions, I was in business.
If you need a phone system as badly as I
did, but don't want to buy any equipment, then you should really check
out Ring Central. It works for me. |
